Four Ways to Help you Find the Perfect Photographer for you!

Sometimes finding the right photographer can be easy. You find one that is recommended by a friend, a co-worker, or you search Google for your area's photographers.  You check out their website and immediately fall in love with their work.   But, are they the right photographer for you and your family?  Here are four ways to make sure a photographer is the perfect one for you and your family.

1.  First and foremost, know your child's schedule and their needs.

Their nap time, feeding time, and active time are most important.  Sometimes, certain photographers only work on certain days and times.  Make sure you are working around not the photographer's schedule, but your child's schedule.  You want your children to be happy during their photo session.  A child that is rested with a full tummy is the happiest.

2.  Understand your wants as a parent.

Make sure to communicate these things to your photographer.  Not every photographer is going to be a perfect fit for you, and that's ok.  There are a lot of great photographers in your area, no matter where you are located.  If you are able to find one that you "click" with right away, you know you found a good photographer that will work well with your child too!

3.  Timing is everything.

Ask the photographer if they are Part-time or Full-time.  Depending on what your needs are as far as time, one may be better for you than the other.  A Part-time photographer may have more flexibility in days, especially weekends, and times, which would be better for working around your child's schedule.  Sometimes even trying to book a last minute portrait session would be easier with a part-time photographer.

4.  Experience is key.

Make sure you find a photographer with lots of experience with children.  It helps to find one that has photographed children of all ages, from newborn to 6 months to 4 years to tweens.  You might even want to ask if the photographer has children of their own.  That way you know they have lots of experience.

I hope these tips have been helpful in finding the right photographer for you and your family!  Want to know more about scheduling your family's session?  I'd love to chat with you!
