When I started my photography adventure I knew I wanted to incorporate my name into my business name. With my last name being Salazar and not speaking but a few words in Spanish, I knew I didn't want to add that to it. My middle name is Leslie, so I took the initials from my middle and last name and stuck them in the middle. Voila! Jessica LS Photography was born May 2014.
My first few logos were, of course, self made. I knew I wanted my focus to be on the 'LS', but I wasn't quite sure of the arrangement. I knew I wanted purple, which is my favorite color, and I knew I wanted 2 different fonts. I played with various different styles, fonts, shapes, but had no idea how any of it related to my actual business.
In June 2015, I came across pre-made logos from Bittersweet Design Boutique called Seaside Cambria. It was much different than what I had originally thought I wanted in a logo, but given that I knew I needed to be consistent within my business, it became my new look. I added the purple to make it my own. I still to this day love the clean lines, open spaces, two different fonts, and complete package.
When it came time for me to renew and update my website in June 2016, I knew I wanted a whole new look. So I searched for various branding/logo businesses and found Autumn Lane Paperie. Beck was so extremely patient with me and the finding the perfect fonts, the placement of the initials and the business name, and how to make everything look cohesive and unique to my business. Although it took more time that I initially thought (more because of my indecisiveness!), I could not be happier with my new look!
I love everything about this new brand look. From the clean lines, to gentle swirl, and of course, the purple! I am so excited to see how much my little business has changed over the past 2 years. From building my portfolio work in 2014 to making it officially a business in 2016, I can't wait to see where I'll be in 5 years.
